MORE THAN FIVE DECADES OF BIG MEATS
Yogi Hanke and his business partner Bill opened their first meat market, combining their names — Bill + Glenn — to create B.I.G. Meats.

Where It All Began

HOME IN MILLARD
A year later, Yogi purchased Duffy’s business and opened B.I.G. Meats in a small storefront on 136th Street in Millard.
1982
Growing the
Family Business
As the years passed, B.I.G. Meats continued to grow, with family becoming an even bigger part of the business.
2000
THE NEXT
GENERATION
Yogi’s sons, Mark and David, purchased the family business, carrying B.I.G. Meats into its second generation.
2010
Through the years, B.I.G. Meats continued to evolve while staying true to the quality, service and family traditions it was built on.

Today, Ryan and Katie are proud to carry BIG Meats into its next chapter, building on the same commitment to quality, hard work and personal service that has defined the family business since 1969. And the next generation is already getting a taste of the family tradition. With their boys growing up around the business, firing up the grill and learning what BIG Meats is all about, the hope is that what started more than five decades ago will continue for generations to come.

Meet Biggie — the official mascot of BIG Meats.
After more than five decades of serving Omaha, we're having a little fun with what's next. Biggie is bold, unmistakably BIG, and ready to become a familiar face around town. You'll be seeing him throughout the store, on BIG Meats gear, out in the community and even the face of BIG Meats new food truck.
And we're only getting started! From new merch and special appearances to plenty of Biggie-approved surprises, there are some exciting things ahead for the newest member of the BIG Meats family.
